My interest in being a podiatrist was sparked by my older sister who had trained. I was keen to care and look after people in some way and decided it was a good profession. I went to train at Salford's Northern College of Chiropody qualifying in 1979. I studied further gaining a BSc ( Hons) in podiatric research at Southampton University and a post graduate certificate in clinical biomechanics from Staffordshire University. Initially I worked in the NHS for several years and decided to set up my private practice, which has now been running for 38 years and I still love what I do. As well as having the day to day responsibility of running the practice along with my husband Chris (very confusing) I split my clinical work between Tarleton and Churchtown practices over 4 days weekly. I am a member of the Royal College of Podiatry, an affiliate member of the Liverpool Medical Institute and my HCPC number is CH07352. When Im not working I enjoy walking, theatre, singing and gardening and catching up with my children and grandchildren.

I have had a varied career starting with marine engineering and owning retail and computer businesses. I joined the team in 2014 and am responsible for the overall management of the practice and keeping my wife in order! When Im not working our children and grandchildren keep us busy. I love to travel, watching films, all technology and am currently trying to master guitar, keyboard and compose.

Allied health is in my blood as my Grandfather was a physiotherapist. In my teens I was given the opportunity of visiting a chiropody practice of a family friend and found that I was drawn to the profession. In 1989 I successfully qualified as a podiatrist from Northern College of Podiatry in Salford. In the same year I took a position within the NHS based in Southport. I also established a private domiciliary practice. After completing 30 years service within the NHS I made the decision to concentrate on working within the private sector on a full time basis. I waas delighted to be offered the opportunity of working with Chris Lean as an associate podiatrist. I gain a great deal from maintaining my professional development by attending regular courses. This ensures and allows me to provide and maintain a high standard of care to all my clients. ASt home I enjoy family life with my wife and 2 children who are currently studying at University. My hobbies include golf, walking our West Highland terrier called Bertie, cycling, gardening. I look forward to meeting you. I have a strong passion and love for podiatry which I developed whilst training at University of Huddersfield. When I first qualified I started work in the NHS at Southport Hospital and after 12 years gained vital experience and continue to work within the NHS team. I have completed a Masters in leadership with biomechanics as a specialism. I am a member of The Royal College of Podiatry and have been working at Chris Lean & Associates since 2017 and am finding this aspect of work a pleasureable experience and am enthusiatic to continue. Away from work I have a wife and three children who keep me busy and I love cooking and running. My HCPC number is CH 25640 and I work at the Churchtown Southport practice on Mondays and some Saturdays.
